This license is for the sole purpose of enabling you to use and enjoy the benefit of the Software as provided by Respondus, in the manner permitted by the terms of the Agreement. Licensor gives you a personal, worldwide, non-assignable and non-exclusive license to use the Software provided to you by Respondus. If You do not obtain such consent, then You are not authorized to use the Software.ġ. By using the Software, You represent that a parent/legal guardian has agreed to this Agreement on your behalf. Start the LockDown Browser to verify installation and then quit the LockDown Browser.īecause the LockDown Browser is a shell that sits on top of an Internet browser (Internet Explorer for PC users and Safari for Mac Users), we recommend students access their course with either Internet Explorer or Safari and take a non-LDB enabled practice quiz to resolve any settings and media plug-ins prior to taking a test with LockDown Browser.įor Windows systems, we suggest relaxing any security settings to “medium”, add “LockDown.exe” as a trusted application and “*.” address as a trusted site in any security software.BY CLICKING THE ACCEPTANCE BUTTON OR INSTALLING OR USING THE LOCKDOWN BROWSER SOFTWARE ("SOFTWARE"), THE INDIVIDUAL OR ENTITY INSTALLING OR USING THE SOFTWARE ("USER" OR “YOU”) IS CONSENTING TO BE BOUND BY AND IS BECOMING A PARTY TO THIS END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT"). Go to the folder you extracted the files and run “setup.exe”. You will be presented with an option to extract the files to a location of your choosing. When you start running the installer and get to the large button “LockDown Browser Click to install”, instead click the link “Problems with the installation program? Click here”. Do not “Google” for a link because these are campus specific. Contact the IT Help Desk for additional assistance in disabling your security software. Temporarily disable all security software. Logging in as a non-administrator and then using “Run as Administrator” may not set the correct permissions. The following tips may help to correct other problems encountered with Lockdown Browser. 
IE should be reset to default security levels, and the exam should be tried again. If you experience errors while taking a test through the LockDown Browser, check your security settings in IE and the overall functionality of IE.
Safari must be in proper working order. 200MB permanent space on the hard drive. 
If IE has some sort of infection or not working properly, the LockDown Browser could error. Anything higher and JavaScript cannot be ran and cookies won’t be sent or received causing login and test taking errors. IE has to be set to default security levels. * Includes x86 32 and 64bit processors and ARM 64bit processors using x86 emulation. Windows 10S is not a compatible operating system. 
Shares properties with Safari if on a Mac. Shares properties with IE if on Windows machine.
